1.     Courtney Mann: Account Executive, The Tombras Group. I met Courtney during an internship I did the summer after my freshman year. I would classify Courtney as a domain expert; she ran things, even if they fell under another category. She is incredibly driven and warrants much more respect than anyone in her same position that I had met. Though I have met her previously, I used this opportunity to get to know her better and keep her in my list of contacts. The favor she did for me was look at my resume. This was incredibly helpful because she is in the same industry that I wish to go into (advertising) and she has gone through four companies now in her professional career.  Having her in my network makes me confident that I could reach out to her in the future for recommendations, tips or critique.
2.     Hannah Collins: Marketing Assistant. Hannah was also someone I met briefly during my time as an intern. She worked with a local craft brewery and helped with the marketing and branding. Due to the small size of the company, Hannah was also very involved with the rest of the company activity, such as sales, PR, design and distribution. I would identify Hannah as the supplier. Hannah is someone I reached out to with questions about the industry she is in, marketing craft brewery and distillery services. Having Hannah in my network will help add someone to my network in the specific industry I wish to end up in.
3.     My market expert would be Katherine Scogin, who worked with New Scooters for Less as a Marketing assistant.  I chose her because she has just about the exact target market I have. I found her through LinkedIn and reached out to her via LinkedIn.  I think she would help me with actions that target the specific market I need in addition to helping me with wording and media choices for this market.


This form of targeted marketing will be essential to me marketing in my field of business. Reaching out to these people helps me extend contact with them and similar people in my industry. Compared with my networking experience in the past, this was probably the most direct form I’ve taken yet.

    Great job with your post. You really did a great job choosing individuals who are veterans of your industry. It is so critical to talk to other people who have already gone through the start up phase and are already successful. This allows you to learn from their mistakes, so that you business can be successful.

I have liked your idea from the very beginning and being in contact with resources like this could really make it a real thing if it was something you wished to pursue.

I think it is awesome that you have already done an internship and that you have been able to see the importance of being nice to everyone at whatever job even if you know you will only be there for a short time like the intern position is. As i can see you still keep in touch with Courtney and that is something that you learned that is very important. Congrats!

I think my favorite experience with this class is the interactive nature of it. If we weren’t in the small groups, we wouldn’t have had the chance to see each other’s ideas evolve and grow. It was nice to have a few specific ideas that we could follow along with our own. I don’t think of myself as an Entrepreneur quite yet, but I do think I have a different perspective on things. To those who come into the course, I would say be creative in your posts. The more you invest in your posts, the less it will seem like an assignment and the more it will seem like something you’ve created.

Existing Market: 1.      What’s Next: There will be no service workers that actually work in the field. The only workers would work in an office or in a remote location where people could purchase details or go for customer service. I would also need to heavily market the product and work on pricing. 2.      After the interviews, I learned from my interviewees that they would prefer a better pricing option than that of UF or Gainesville parking decals. They agreed that, with a product like this that would significantly improve their everyday life, they would be willing to pay a decent amount of money similar to that of UF’s, but would like an option for monthly or quarterly pricing. 3.      For the future, I think the plan would need to focus on improving the current, most similar service, parking. My product/service would solve the issue that there aren’t separate roads for scooters in places such as the University of Florida where there are many people who ride scooters every day. This issue not only poses danger but also causes a lot of traffic and makes what should be a five minute commute take 30 minutes. To solve this problem, I would offer a service that constructs roads specifically for smaller vehicles in a place with a lot of walking traffic, such as the UF campus. There would be specific decals for purchase that would allow people to ride scooters or smaller vehicles on the path as well as crosswalks for pedestrians. These could be used with UF parking decals and would attract both students and faculty. It would also benefit drivers because there would be fewer scooters on the road.
